And here we go again.......got serious problems with connectiong to game server since chaning clients OS to Windows 7!
Got all set to funtion on login/game server and both running normal, ping to server via l2auth.lineage2.com is running fine and showing the right ip adress, Freya Client is up to date and running fine BUT i cant login to server.

Always getting message that password is incorrect though all is set to Autocreate accounts - ive checked ipconfig.xml lotsa times but all looks right to me - wan and lan ip are correct (checked both lotsa times)

Is it possible that there is somewhere a hidden mistake due to using Windows 7 on Client and server running on Windows XP?

EDIT: changed "latest" Version into more detailed info such as right Version number to make it more efficient for others to help me :lol:

Did you remake your host file?

ahem...what do you mean "remake"? I added the IPs as usual - is there any change now with windows 7?

127.0.0.1 localhost
(wan ip) l2auth.lineage2.com

If there is any change with host file that could explain my troubles so far....lol...hopefully you got a clue for me^^

naw no changes next step would be to to check your ports just to run down the basics

wich ones?
Ports on gameserver are all open....due to the fact that i was able to play on other free server i guess all ports on client are open too.

For me it looks like my Client is trying to connect to official L2 Servers but after checking with ping l2auth i can see that MY gameserver is answering and recieving data

Just to make sure everything is right here are my ipconfig and my host file:

ipconfig.xml

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

<!-- Localhost here -->
<define subnet="127.0.0.0/8" address="127.0.0.1" />
<!-- Internalhosts here (LANs IPs) -->
<define subnet="10.0.0.0/8" address="10.0.0.0" />
<define subnet="172.16.0.0/19" address="172.16.0.0" />
<define subnet="192.168.0.0/16" address="lan ip" />
</gameserver>

in hosts file, it should be (wan ip) l2authd.lineage2.com
If you have problems, FIRST TRY SOLVING THEM YOURSELF, and if you get errors, TRY TO ANALYZE THEM, and ONLY if you can't help it, THEN ask here.
Otherwise you will never learn anything if all you do is copy-paste!

ahem.....the way you answered leaves me only more confused than before.....does that mean that i posted wrong info?

L2J=5081
L2JDP=8545
WAN IP = in my case whatismyip.com
LANIP = in my case internal-IPadress

Thats what i guess was what ur going to tell me but IF NOT - please do me a favour and explain me in simple words what my mistake was ok?

I already checked it several times to make sure but i cant find any mistakes - im guessing that it may be something on my client.

Actual status:

Gameserver is running like it has to be (starts up normally and with correct screens on start), same goes for the Login Server - all looks normal to me.
Ive checked the ipconfig several times again (like i showed in the previous posting with the correct extermal IP adress) and the Gameserver sends and recieves data packages when being pinged. NO changes (except password) were made in the configs on either gameserver and loginserver.
Client PC is up to date with the latest Freya Client and ports are open on the Game/Loginserver.

I suggest that it could be something with the WIndows 7 system - is there ANYTHING i have to change when im using WIndows 7? Ive done several servers and used them with a client running on XP - problems appeared first time after changing system on client to Windows 7. I already configured the Host with admin rights and ive got no more ideas what the problem could be.
Only purpose for running this server is to use it on local network with 1 Server PC (Win XP) and 1 Client PC (Win 7 Ultimate).

I would be so thankful if anyone could help me with this.
