Hello everyone.

I was trying the gm commands and I found that the command //GM that should toggle the status between on and off just deactivate the gm mode and is not able to re-enable it.
Only way for me to bring it on again: logout and set the value manually in the db.

I searched around in the forum but no one seems to have my same trouble.
What I think is that I must have done something wrong, but I havent any clue of what it is.
This is my first build and use of a L2J server, so I'm still trying to figure out pretty much everything.
Any suggestion that can help me out will be very appreciated.

Thanks!
hope

use to be like that some time ago but was changed to what you see now dont use you really have no reason to use that command you see what it now does so no real reason to ask the question in here when you already know the answer

Thanks for the answer: but if I was not asking I was not sure if the problem was mine or not.

I believe that the fact that I can fix it doesn't mean that I should not enquiry about.

Since no one has ever mentioned that in the forum (the search dont come up with anything about), now, cause I've posted the question there is an answer that will be useful for someone else.

If no one asked any questions then no one would have any answers. (Think about it.)
I thought it was a very logical thing to ask.

Exactly, I was actually wondering this myself but never bothered to ask. I figured it was some bug since it seems stupid to have a command which all it does is deactivate your GM status/mode. (I mean seriously, who would actually use that? No offense intended, I am sure there is a logical reason as to why this change was made. )
Having it toggle between on and off, sounds much more logical, so I had assumed it was just a bug.

So thank you fl0ppy for raising this question and thanks hope for answering it.

The reason some admins/devs would use that is to test something, that should only be tested as a player access. It saves time logging out going into the db and changing access there. This is what i would use it for if needed.

there's only 1 problem - if you remove your character's access level (//gm), it doesn't store the old value anywhere, the only place is database `characters` table, but that's where you remove it.
If you have problems, FIRST TRY SOLVING THEM YOURSELF, and if you get errors, TRY TO ANALYZE THEM, and ONLY if you can't help it, THEN ask here.
Otherwise you will never learn anything if all you do is copy-paste!
Discussion breeds innovation.
