We follow the philosophy that if you donate it was because you wanted to, nothing else.

Premium Member titles or stuff like that are fake, we dont want members trolling/flaming others because they feel like uberUsers because they have donated.

Remember, there are many reasons to donate:

• L2j is free, and it will be free FOREVER!
• Think that donating those $5 that you would use to buy a cigarette is healthier than smoking it.
• Developers works for free, they arent tied by any contract to L2j, so they can leave if they want to, but they dont, they do this because they want to and they like it and they arent paid.
• Spending hours and hours coding stuff its hard, sometimes we need a drink, buy meh a Beer!
• Server hosting fees arent free, bandwidth is expensive, do you ever realize how much traffic L2j generates? the day that L2j Server v2.9 GF was released we received a massive traffic attack from all the people downloading it from the SVN, at the first moment we freaked out thinking that it was a DDoS by some chinese folks.
• The day that L2j runs out of funds to pay the server fees, that will create a huge impact in all the L2j Community, the L2j Devs will keep working and joining forces in the IRC to share things, but for all those that doesnt know how to apply patches, dont know how to use IRC, and all those people that just come and download without caring about anything else, that will be a huge impact on them, no more server updates for those guys, and support will be limited to everyone, no forums = no support.

So? you need another reason to donate?

some legal stuff related to profit from emulators and bla bla bla bla... so we decided to stay on donations its easyer to manage, and we pay taxes for them so we are safer in this way.
