Hi all, I tried to update date using the upgrade option to keep my characters and items. When I do this I can't use the same server number(for example bartz) that I was using before. When I log in it shows that server is down and I have to choose a different server name. I tried to search this information on updating without losing data and could not find anything. Would someone be able to point me to a step by step guide to update data properly or explain it ? Thanks !

Its likely that you have forgotten to copy the hexid.txt from the old configuration directory.
In that case the gameserver requests a new id from the loginserver resulting in the first one shown offline, as per se its not connected.
In your loginserver db you have the gameservers table in which you can edit the ids easily and then just delete the abandoned one. That should fix your problem after an loginserver restart.
