About L2JServer sustainability

Post by marcose »

Hello everyone.
I have another idea:
Why no rework l2jserver H5 from 0, new start?

Why that idea?
Because the basic core is old and have many bugs or whit the java updates some functions are unrecomended for a better java runtime.

Who is going to do that crazy idea?
Frist need some Crypto Masters (Or Package decoders :P ), Java Delevopers and HTML and DB Managers.

What is going frist?
Think the Database structure (Tables and columns, requiered for H5), Java Things (Frist whit custom Messages and later whit System Messages), Check what is done and what is missing ( I can help whit that ).

So check this post viewtopic.php?f=4&t=25255#p147483 and give your opinion and why.

Wrong, you are refactoring an old base of the server not reworking it from 0.

Maybe if my parttener aprove it, i will give an program to l2jserver to add drop and stats to DV & LoA Mobs. (ColliH & ColliR not included).

lol ?

you don't need to write it from 0 to rework something.

just improve code like Zoey did with some things, like: skillTrees, Henna, and others.

Maybe not, maybe yes.

For example H5 is using same core as IL (Whit modifications), im right?

Maybe the IL client at that time was better to do an Custom Class insead a new instance, so maybe for H5 was better a fully rework and create a new classes like L2AttackableWalker (From L2p) for DV Trakers and Scouts or another can be missing functions or have extra functions. (Sorry for the english, i used google traductor, im reading it and sucks :P)

So, think it.

ok, then I understand you want to rework some things then, like we are currently doing.

then I have a question for you :P

why you don't already start with it then, instead of complain and requesting to others do it for you ? :P

@marcose I think you haven't checked the code, in Epilogue MMO core and packet system was rewritten, in Freya most parts of the core were reworked, and in High Five we have removed/rewritten/reworked most of the faulty/legacy/outdated code, using proper systems and newer technologies.

I'd recommend you to read the code and compare it, saying that L2J uses the same core now that back then in Interlude makes me a sad panda :(
