Re: Connecting to the server
OK so i get the host file thing but what do i launch in the client. i know that other servers have an l2.exe in the bin folder of the client but my install doesn't have that. i would ask about how to get that but i think that might be against the rules considering that its client modding(i think). sorry for being such an epic n00b

Re: Connecting to the server
Do you get an error like protocol version different, disconnecting? (Check the past few topics, maybe it's client/server compatibility, ie. you won't be able to connect to a Freya server with a H5 client etc.) This would be very likely.

Re: Connecting to the server
Yeah i searched around and found that it was an issue in the client version. i uninstalled the high five version and installed freya. i heard that you should not update it and that you should run l2.bin using a cmd or bat file but that gives me a side-by-side configuration error. I did some research on the issues and found nothing. if anyone could help that would be great.
EDIT: i fixed the side by side error with the c++ distribution
