just curious, how are you/would you advertise your server? including both homeland and international. what do you think, what is charming for the players?

of course i mean, beside registering to voting/listing sites (and maybe paying tons of money for having a banner on, having a "top sponsor" spot on the top of the list, etc).
my main point and concern is that somebody mentioned in the forum smth like "no matter how crap your server is, if you pay enough for advertising, people will come in hordes". and i fail to agree with that.
(also: if somebody is registering to a voting site and cannot get a stable voting basis from his newly-recruited players, he will go to the sink. or you may try automated voting etc., but that is against fair play...)
