Updating to the latest build??

if i want to get the datapack for the latest build, would i download the pack, put the files into my server folder, and then run database installer?

My guess is that i wouldn't have to run the installer...just over writes the existing files when i move the datafiles into folder right? and if I did this would it wipe the server of accounts? I don't want to wipe the server accounts.

Or maybe there is a way that is not this way???
