server specifications for a smallscale l2j server

Post by J0Y »

I'm not familiar with what is the server machines minimum requirements to run a L2j server, I want to ask here to see if someone can tell me.

Would this server be good enough to run a server with around 100 players?

should be more or less ok, but with geodata on you will notice ram limitation.

HDD is slow as well as ram may not be enough.

If you are planning on making a pvp type server with that you will be able to host more than 500 players easily if you disable quests and other useless scripts, delete unneeded data from spawnlist and droplist, enable geodata only on popular areas like: (castles, forts, oly stadium and farming/leveling spots). Thats way i was able to handle around 500 players on a 2gb ram machine with restart once every morning.

4gb might be not enough if you are planning to play with geodata. 6 / 8GB will be more than enough for 100 players online with geo on.
And in the next chronicle they went into space, fighting the evil empire... In a galaxy far, far away xD
