L2J for a C1 Client

I am interested in launching a c1 server (primarily for me and my friends but maybe we will open it up later) and my question is:

Does the l2j server support a c1 client?

Also, do I need to run master or C4 branch?

Are there any security concerns?

I like the idea for create C1 or C3 branch, but now without chance i should for one new branch.

I'd aim for classic support and introduce whatever older chronicle you want with the latest client to avoid OS incompatibility and graphical quality degradation

Yes, I think it would be nice, classic will not continue the same as official recent version, it would give constant updates without changing the client protocol always.
