I am having a hell of a time figuring out why the GS won't finish loading up. Login server works fine and connects to db fine.

I am trying to run it on Ubuntu 12.04 x64 on a dedicated remote server (no physical access to box - everything is command line)

in the log/stdout.log this is where it stops

Code: Select all

[23:43:04]  INFO Network Config: ipconfig.xml doesn't exists using automatic configuration...[23:43:08]  INFO Network Config: Adding new subnet: 142.4.xxx.x/24 address: 142.4.xxx.xxx[23:43:08]  INFO Network Config: Adding new subnet: 0.0.0.0/0 address: 142.4.xxx.xxx[23:43:08]  INFO Loaded 6 Filter Words.
It doesn't load past that - using the same user/pswd for login as with gameserver. Like I said login has no problems and the GS isn't returning any java/mysql errors.

The character information from the login server is not being past to the gameserver "characters" table either - so something is going on.

Here is my server.ini

Code: Select all

Any help as to why the server stalls - and doesn't load any further would be appreciated.

server.ini was my shorthand for server.properties..... like you don't recognize the code *rolls eyes*

Something constructive would have been far more useful - thanks.

 How should i know you mean server.properties when you say server.ini. I aint a psychic.

Anyway to answer constructively now that i know you dont use a fork (some forks use .ini files for their properties btw).

You dont need to change anything on the properties files, dont even change the ipconfig.xml file since now the server gets the ip automatically.
