L2J Server

Hi there,

first of all i appologize for making such a non-patient post but i just want to clarify a few things for myself.
i guess i dont need to ask when there will be a GoD database pack.. so i wont bother
i saw that the development of GoD didnt even start and i also see no big interest from the l2j team to do so. but i need a GoD version of the database pack long time now.. (im talking about xml / sql files only just to make this clear) can someone help me to update that to god? i would also contribute it to l2j if people show me how to do it.. for now i only have the GoD quest information + itemname list .. but im missing all droplists, new item + stats, armor sets, npcs, etc etc.. if no one can help me are there any other ENGLISH sources around of the GoD datapack? this post is not supposed to criticize anything, i just want the data set and help if i can help to make it go faster.

l2jserver will take a while to upgrade to the goddess, has a lot to be worked out yet! For example Dragon valley or basement is not yet upgraded to High five! many missing and several quests and instances boss does not work! I find it important to worry about what is still lost! this particular Saturday I'll open my test server goddess! I worked all day in support for these new packages! NPC Walker, new quests! speeches of npcs! teleports! if you want something a goddess! will have to wait or work on your own! I am willing to share everything I did for the community l2jserver! I am just waiting for someone in a staff l2jserver! I do not want to create expectations and end up causing trouble in the forum!

yeah i saw that i will take a while. im following that announcemnt thread so i know the status.. just to clarify again, i'm not a server owner or something.. i only need the GoD database for my website. i dont need any dragon valley fixes or stuff like that.. also i dont want to look back to h5 (even if its important for many ppl here) and yes i would also work myself on it, if someone tells me the procedure how to extract/obtain information like drop list, item stats..i guess its not manually writing down from ingame xD so far i only found out about npc names, item names and quests.. but there is much missing. i really want to help and contribute but im not sure if someone wants the help of a "beginner"

im also sure that there is a GoD datapack source around already else l2wiki wouldnt be able to exist.

*bump* any hints for me? are these sources i am looking for even existing already? i googled and checked so many pages lt/ru/por and there are few GOD files around but no datapacks (=items,npc,drop,skills,..) are up to date.. can someone help me or at least explain how to get it, when it will be around or how to get these data? im really willing to help but im just out of ideas for now..

Fat chance finding good/somewhat complete GoD files freely accessible. If even l2j hasn't started doing this then the only good stuff is closed-source, if any at all.

Well, to be honest, the datapack only wont do you much good since your players wont be able to connect to your server using the GoD client.
The first thing that needs to be done when moving to a new chronicle is client support. (communications between client and server change - sometimes drastically - between chronicles)
The new packets needs to be analyzed and implemented correctly in the core.
The second thing that needs to be done is core support for the new/modified stuff in the new chronicle.
Then, the last thing to do is the datapack stuff (items, quests, skills, etc... etc...)
At the moment there has been an interest shown by part of the L2J dev team to work on the new chronicle, but the concensus is to wait until the team is ready to really give this job their 100%. You also have to understand that the active L2J team is smaller than it used to be in the past, which makes this work a huge undertaking. Also, from what I can see, there isnt much involvement from the community anymore. In the past there was alot of community involvement (even if not always recognized), but now there's hardly anything contributed other than by the same few people always (thanks to those contributors btw -> nonom, vlight, jirchiks and all the others who are active and helping the community and the project).

You say that you want to help, but you dont say what your qualifications/knowledge are. If we knew what you can and cannot do it would be easier to point you in the right direction.
For example, if you're good in either php, vb, java, c# or whatever language that can be good to create a website parser, you could start parsing infos from the reliable and updated web databases. If you're more familiar with html and you have a retail account, you could start working on updating the current quest and npc html's, etc...
If you've worked with packet sniffers in the past, you could sniff the new client and server packets.
There's a ton more things that you could do, but to assign you some work to help we need to know what you CAN do.

This goes for anyone else who wants L2J to move forward faster. You do not need to be an "official L2J dev" or even have good coding skills to help. Just make me or one of the active devs or advanced users a sign if you want to help out and we'll all be happy to show you the basics. In no time you'll be helping the community and helping to make L2J better than ever!

The point is: They want stuff done, they should get involved and help out so it gets done faster

yeah im not a server owner.
i dont speak a single line java.. my "qualifications" are php/html/css/sql/xml/..

yesterday i extracted and combined the GOD information so it suits the requirements of my drop calculator.
i dont know if someone would have use for it!?

so currently i only need to know where i can find the "droplist" (combining npc + item via a "chance") and npc stats (hp+strength+...)

I'm still looking forward to update my drop calculator with the droprates! i can exchange all GOD skills in a sql file if someone dont want to give it for free ;D
