Hello l2j community!
Can someone tell me how many kb's 1 player uses? For example: How many up speed i need to give for 1 player?
Because i have 4mb''s up 120 down. I was also waiting for my isp to fix my problem cause i can get up to 8mb limit, and they say they dont know how to solve it.
So my concern is: whats the connection velocity for each l2 player that logs at every server?

Hey!
This is varying. Packet sizes vary from 5-10 bytes up to 400-500 bytes, so about 255 bytes are sent/received per second, but an active player could use up to 5 kbytes/s. Of course the network load exponentially increases with players, since 1 player receives those 5 players' infos of the rest, and so on. You have 4 mbytes/s or 4 mbits/s? I think you mean mbytes/s that means you can hold strongly approximate value of 100 players at a time.

That's my connection.
BTW: What if i use my website hosting service to store my database there?
And the gameserver would be with my connection. Does that improves connection? Or players need to get data from website hosting service and then get info from my computer from gameserver?
Website hosting database connection 100mb/s

If machine specs and network speed of webhosting is better, then yes, a separate db will improve performance, but not the network speed. Anyway, only upload speed matters, since connections are initiated by clients, your login/game server will never initiate a connection to outside ip's just in the case of a separate db, so it will connect to the db, after processing, receive data back, and send to the player.

In the picture your upload test is < 1mb.
You can have 50~80 players. But if you put those 80 players in same place (like TW/Siege) your players will have lag like a hell.

May be with 1mb upload you can get 100 players without lag, but truest me. if you have those 100 players in same place, uploading requeriments increase exponentially.
In my server, during TvT (60 players in same place, becouse maxium is 30 by team) my upload usage is like 5mb, but in normal leveling my upload usage is like 1.5 ~ 3 mb with 300 players on.

I think with this connecton, your problem now is you hard disc, becouse 5400rpm is very slow. You need 15.000rpm or SSD disc.
But with this connection i think you can easly have 1000 players online and may be much more.
