Forks and User Contributions

L2J is great, always was. I just noticed that this great project is losing coders by the day.
People just jump to private svns and other forks because they just want more working stuff for their players.

What do other fork projects do?
Copy/Paste the source code of L2J and sync here and then with this project,
they just add the patches already found in this forum and claim to be greater than L2J!
The first day you see it here, next day some fork has it!

What do other forks already have?
Working gmspeed4 admin panel button (pathetic).
Bot Report Button viewtopic.php?f=69&t=15511
No private shops near other characters viewtopic.php?f=73&t=19876
Visual NPC to PC transforming(fake_pcs) viewtopic.php?f=73&t=12664
Pailaka 73 Injured Dragon 100% work viewtopic.php?f=69&t=20058
Underground Coliseum viewtopic.php?f=69&t=18758
Capture the Flag (CTF) Event viewtopic.php?f=73&t=11576
New TvT Draft viewtopic.php?f=73&t=19883
Siegable halls viewtopic.php?f=69&t=18838
Chamber of Delusion viewtopic.php?f=94&t=21256
Project Hellbound (Freya) viewtopic.php?f=69&t=21345
Freya Instance viewtopic.php?f=46&t=21013
All of these just sit here in L2J forums!

Can the L2J Server-Team do something about it?

is like that since years xD

you should know that "custom contributions" have really low priority in L2J, same happens with some events... and that is because "retail gameplay emulation" have more priority in L2J.

now about "retail missing features", this only depend of community to help with tests and give us feedback, there is no place for "sit and request" xD

for example, you could help to test these contributions and compare with retail tests/info if possible, giving us feedback about what is working wrong, or what is missing, or what is incomplete, and when some of these "retail missing features" become nearly complete, then can be committed, but not before ;)

other way... when something incomplete is committed, after few days people come to forums to cry about why this is not working properly, why is not complete and blahblah related things.

User Contributions do not belong to l2j, you know?
Besides, some of the things you named did not originate here, and none of them were made especially for l2jserver, they were either shared because someone felt like it, or adapted from other forks who had made them first (Chamber of Delusion, Underground Coliseum, Pailaka 73).
In case you didn't know, even the Hellbound that is being shared here was first originated in l2jfree, then went on to be rewritten by l2open (the most famous version) and other forks and is now all over the place, same code with medium changes and everybody shares it like it's their unique version.
Nobody even reads the User Contributions description: "Share YOUR OWN CODE..."

Several of the contributions you've mentioned are really bugged and is understandable that can't be committed.

The copy/paste thing, and people coming to l2j forum to "steal" what they can has always happened and I don't think I will never change... So the only thing we can do is try to make better contributions that are retail like and then they maybe can be committed :)

i.e. I tried weeks ago that underground coliseum contribution that you mentioned and... what can I say... WTF o_O

Oh, I'm with you about the Hellbound problem... I have a working, really retail like version until stage 10... but I stopped working on it months ago, seems that people hates the leveling system and with so many new features with Gracia Seeds, new farming zones... now the Hellbound opening process has no sense cause you can obtain dynasty sets, moirais, etc, in easier ways
