L2J Server

ok, i have already read about 20 different articles about l2j server configuration and setup of software, i have only 2 question left ... i have selected me software to use on my future server,

1. what operating system do i use ??? Linux ... ?? what flavor ?
2. my processor good enough? or no ?

Memory : 8GB, DDR2, 800MHz, 4x2GB,Dual Ranked DIMMs
Hard Drive Configuration : Add-in SAS6iR (SATA/SAS Controller) supports 2 Hard Drives– RAID 0
Primary Hard Drive : 73GB 15K RPM Serial-Attach SCSI 3Gbps 3.5-in Cabled Hard Drive
2nd Hard Drive : 73GB 15K RPM Serial-Attach SCSI 3Gbps 3.5-in Cabled Hard Drive
Network Adapter : On-Board Single Gigabit Network Adapter

1) Debian Etch is as far as I know preferred by a lot of people to run a smooth and secure L2J server. I'd say Debian 4.0 Stable. Maybe 5.0 Lenny. If you're not good with Linux then run windows server 2003, however I think that I've heard that with Windows Server 2008, you can actually ban computers.

2) No. Your processor is only good enough to run tetris Of course it's good enough to hold hundreds of players.

momo is right just 1 small thing I'd recommend use windows 2008 server instead of 2003. Momo mentioned it but 2003 is so old and outdated there is no use to use it. Go for 2008

2008 is actually as close to linux security you can get without switching to linux if you compare to any other windows OS
