okay i set up my server fine i can log in using same machine but when i try to log in using my laptop trough the lan it wont let me get it in the ping is 9999 i have read the faqs and searched the forum. I know its something to do with the loginserver properties and or the host file but i just dont know what

like external hostname ive tried setting it to my wan ip and the static ip i created for the port forwarding and neither let me connect

internal hostname ive tried the 127.0.0.1 or the static ip i created

then on the router host name i also try using the static ip none of this has worked

then you probably changed the configs wrong and set * where one shouldn't be. check your server configs again. we cannot help you if we dont know how you set up the server.

if any1 had the same problem i got it to work now on my lan and wan heres the problem in the game server configuration files it says on the notes above where u put the external and internal hostnames

"# If this IP is resolvable by the Login Server, just leave *."
so i was just leaving the * like it said there because i had already defined the hostnames in my login server configuration files well it didnt work until i also defined the hostnames in the game server configuration file. so much for just leaving *
