Custom NPC names

In previous versions of L2J you could just put the number 1 in the custom name field and the custom name would be displayed. Has this changed?

I have created a few custom NPC but cannot get their names to change :(
Can someone tell me why? How do I fix this?

It does not work even if in NPC table, nor in Custom NPC table or even if in both :(
Out of 10 new NPC, only 1 name has changed.

It may be that your database tables are corrupt. I created a few custom NPC into custom_npc and had names and title changed appropriately. After rebooting the test server numerous times for testings, I notice the names and titles were no longer displaying properly regardless of what I did to fix it. Deleting the entries, remaking the NPC does not fix it but dropping the database and re-importing the data fixed my names and titles issues for custom_npc.

Give that a try.

well what I have seen is this...

In game if you go Shift+click you see the new name in the window but visually it still shows the old name!

If you have an npc called peter and you change this to john...you can spawnhe new name "john" but his name still shows as peter

I had not encounter that specific issue but on another note, I had came across a select few NPC template that you can't change name and title on them. Maybe try using another template?

This is what is so weird...

NPC ID 32549 - Delios

Previously I changed this to: ID 1000051 - Yoda and this new name is showing perfectly!

Now I make another one: ID 1000078 - Stable Master - This name is not showing!!

ALL this since I did last update !!
I tried changing names, no luck. I deleted the entry and remade it ..no luck! He Still shows as Delios in game but when you Shift+click you Stable Master in the text window :(

OK I used a few different ID's and they worked. So it looks like there are many many NPC ID whose name syou cant change!!

Is there a place where one can add the NPC ID that you can't seem to change to make them to change?

Hello

Look at the stats 'walkspd' and 'runspd' of your NPC, put them greater than 0 and now check if it works :)

I already got this problem and this little thing solved it. :wink:

I set them to "0" as they are not to move!
