L2J Revision 3298 :
L2JDP Revision 6399:
I have problems connecting to my server from outside my local network... I had set all the IP's as said in the guide... I edited my host file... my client is clean and updated.. and I had made my own server about a year ago and it worked fine... I am able to connect from my local network. but WAN just doesn't work.. I get stuck on login screen and I can't see a server... could it be that my ISP is blocking my server from public access?
I am attaching my login server properties maybe I did something wrong there. Thanks

antivirus/firewall?
did you forward/open ports?
checked if the local IP matches with port opened?

an ISP blocking a local server is unlikely to happen

PS: change your password.

External/internal server address should be set in gameserver, not login properties.

It's always a setting on your end. Anytime someone is unable to access his/her server from the public world, it's the ONE little thing you didn't do right. Re-check your settings, then double check it, then verify it again. The user in the following thread had some headache over his/her server and ends up being a very simple issue. Please read the following thread and see if any of it help.

There are also numerous threads with very similar issues as your that were resolved. Please do a search.

I think I know where could be the issue... ok... about a year ago when I hosted a server my computer was directly connected to the internet through a modem. but now my computer is wired to the internet through the router and there is another computer that is connected wirelessly to the router. maybe the client doesn't know which computer to point at? how do I make a client to this exact computer is my WAN ip address is the same for both computers? thanks for your time.

If that is the case, then you need to go into your router and forward BOTH the loginserver and gameserver TCP port to the internal PC hosting the server...ie IP 192.168.1.XXX (if that is the internal IP address of the hosting PC).

If it's a router, it has port forwarding. ALL router have port forwarding.

btw quick question... what has been done to the access levels? I see new kind of access lvl system in the databese like lvl 1 is for Admin lvl 2 ls for Head gm and so on. do I set character access levels this way? or just the old way like 100.... 200... and so on?

Just set yourself (Your user under the character table for accesslevel) to access 127 . That will give you full access. If you want to setup different levels of GM's, then you can use the new system. Hope that helps

Read this guide for the new method: http://www.l2jserver.com/wiki/How_to_se ... privileges

Personally, I prefer the new method as it allows granular controls of what a GM can or can't do.
