Hey alright so heres my deal. I just decided to make a private server for lineage etc etc... worked my way through a few kinks and have now hit a snag I cant get past. My server is running fine, however when I log in it says that "a hacking tool has been discovered" and boots me. I set up a webserver on IIS 7 with the bogus GG files and redirected gameguard to update from there but when I try that it says failed to update -_-;;

I am confused why this is happening at all, I have all of the GG flags marked false so shouldnt it not care wether or not GG is working and just let me play?

# Enforce GameGuard authorization from client?
# If True, login server will kick client if the client bypassed GameGuard authentication.
# Default: True
ForceGGAuth = False

# Bypass exploit protection. To ENABLE protection set to True.
# Default: True
BypassValidation = False

# Enforce gameguard for clients. Sends a gameguard query on character login.
# Default: True
GameGuardEnforce = False

# Don't allow player to perform trade, talk with npc, or move until gameguard reply is received.
# Default: True
GameGuardProhibitAction = False

Anything I am missing?

One last thing that could possibly be the explanation for all of this: the client I downloaded was the Gracia Final full client, is it necessary to upgrade from Gracia Pt 2 in order for things to function properly? i.e. there is no L2.exe in the newest client only the launcher.

Thanks for any help, and yes I used the search function and tried the fixes I found. They did not work hence the new topic.

Are you running the server and the client on the same machine?

If yes, then you shouldnt.

If no, then close any other programs that you have running and just let the client.

Same here.
server: 3059
dp: 6127
Fresh updated game client.

I can't pass login, still "A hacking tool has been discovered bal, bla, bla".
I can login on my retail account and other private servers based on l2j project (revision unknow).
Server and client are running on different machines, different networks.

Alternate (better) solution is to use a local DNS server which is authoritative for lineage2.com and forward remaining to your ISP... (on a separate computer)...That way, there is no hosts modification that can be detected by GameGuard ;-)

Sounds like a great idea. Can you explain a little more detail on how I could do this?

I tried to place the nprotect ip in hosts file. I wasnt getting the hacker tool anymore but know my laptop restarts when I start the client. Everytime I start client it restarts the laptop like I restarted it normally. no error messages and no warnings. The client never starts and i disabled my ESET spyware and virus protection.

I have the latest revisions.
