Is the mysql server started?
Could also be that you've set the mysql server to be available only on localhost and not on 127.0.0.1 (which is not exactly the same thing).
If you have problems, FIRST TRY SOLVING THEM YOURSELF, and if you get errors, TRY TO ANALYZE THEM, and ONLY if you can't help it, THEN ask here.
Otherwise you will never learn anything if all you do is copy-paste!
