Connecting to a server

Post by valeriya »

Have we figured out a way to get around GameGuard blocking the host file changes? I've been gone for a bit since then and can't find anything on the forum about it.

I'm sure I must be missing something. With all these posts on the forum I'm sure people are still able to connect to the L2j servers, so with the hosts file not working, how are people doing it? What is the new method of connecting a client to the L2j servers?

Well GameGuard detects changes to the host file, and there was an announcement about that in L2j I believe a while back, so how are your clients connecting to your server without GameGuard shutting them down?

the ways to fool gameguards are many... the best one, which i'm not going to support, since it's client modding, is by using gameguard killers, otherwise you can:
1) emulate a gameguard update server on your own machine using easyphp
2)Finding a patched system that disables GameGuard (once again, client modding)
3)Insult gameguard to death (u never know, it might actually work)

I've tried hosting the gameguard update server and insulting and neither worked. :)

It says the gameguard update failed or there was a problem running gameguard and the client closes.
