1- Use GM reboot. Player know when the server will be rebooted.
2- Set Daily Task to reboot. So the players get use to a fixed time.

Cheers.

If you have to shutdown multiple services cleanly on the same machine and can't rely on L2J's in game shutdown or auto restart through global tasks, you can use L2J's telnet port to shutdown your server. For that go to your Telnet.properties and enable it. Thoose settings are available on login- and gameserver.

If you are connecting to the telnet port thorugh a WAN port, make sure you are using a secured connection through VPN for example.

Telnet has several security concern awhile ago.

It should use in-house methods.
