JAVA.exe increasingly using more and more CPU time

Reported by: Brutos Assigned to:

DP Revision: 4913 L2J Revision: 2288
Geodata: 100

Description

I just upgraded to the latest nightly's;

Server: 2288 Datapack: 4913

And I have noticed an increasingly CPU-Usage of my JAVA.EXE in less than 2 hours the usage the JAVA.exe have risen to use from 0 to 36% CPU time in spikes from 0 to 36... spikes lasting about half a second and the "normal" 0 standard lasts for about the same. If I shut down the Login- and the GameServer? the usage will drop down to 0.

whats wrong? you're running a server, it will consume resources take a look at KnownList? update interval and other performance variables. If using default config - shouldnt be a big problem.

Post your system specs

Needless to say - My server have never done so before with the L2J server (when running older versions) - And I have been running L2J for more than 2 years now.

Hardware Specs: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor - 3500+ Running at 2.21 GHz with 2.50 GB RAM

Operating System: Win2k3 - SP2

During the test phase we were only 11 - 20 players online at the same time. So this should not be a result of heavy player load - Quite the opposite.

Respectfully Brutos

Even with 70 players my total CPU usage only peaks at 5% normally - And without any real load on the server, now it suddently increasingly use the CPU ressources. The only thing I've done is to update the ServerCore? and DP - And now my server seems to be choking with 11-20 players after a few hours.

install the processor driver from AMD website ;)

WTH... What kind of explanation is that???

I have not have a similair problem like this for the 2 years I have been running my L2 server (on the same hardware). And now, since I've updated today I get this problem for the very first time - And you come up with THAT ?!?

If this is indeed the problem - Please have the courtacy to tell me what and why this suddently changed over night (last weeks update DID NOT generate the same problem).

This is a deadlock, please enter "debug full" in telnet and post result file.

No blocked threads, not a deadlock. Try to update jre.

And IMHO best way - attach profiler to the server and monitor cpu utilization by threads. Read deadlock's thread on forum, there is an instruction about attacing profiler.

get Sun Java 6 update 7

5 is already too old and has security related problems among others
